The Lord is our CEO

Treeferns Trout Lodge is totally committed to the Christian way of doing business.

The good Lord has been blessing us abundantly over the years  we have been operating at Treeferns. He provides in our needs, and protects us from evil in ways that takes one’s breath away. Praise the Lord !  We do have our problems, but He is always with us, and carries us through.

We have a step brother, and brother-in-law, Frederik Maré, living on the farm, which would have been his inheritance. But he could not have it because of a handicap. He suffered brain damage at birth with the sad consequence that he never learned to speak, read, and write. However, he can hear and understand, and he is as strong as  an ox. Of course his  mother, long deceased now, was extremely worried about what would one day after her death, become of him.

In 1994 my wife and I got involved on the farm, and when mother-in-law died in 1998 we took over and since then cared for Frederik.  I strongly believe the Lord rewards us beyond our wildest dreams true to His promise: “ And He will answer, ‘ I tell you the truth, when you refuse to help the least of my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me’ “ (Matthews 25 ; 45) (New Living Translation, 1996).

Our plans for the farm came off and  business grew steadily motivating us  to gradually expand.  Throughout we prayed  the Lord to use us and the farm alike for His Kingdom.  Initially He  did not seem to have heard us, but slowly followers of Jesus, individuals and small groups started visiting. Right now we are frequented by many small and bigger church groups, schools, welfare organisations, and of course individuals and families committed to the Lord.

Also on one of my regular visits to the farm ( we live in Centurion) I met Frans Opperman, a follower of Jesus if ever there was one. After the usual trivialities, I learned that Frans worked for a company Big C Rock Engineering, operating in rock mechanics for the mining industry. One of the Company’s objectives is to spend 10% of nett income for Bible distribution through an affiliate company, Mission Rock.( http://www.missionrock.co.za ) How meritorious ! Asked for a few Bibles for the chalets, Frans brought us 200 Bibles of different languages, and since then many more. We place them with our visitors, schools, churches, anyone in need of a Bible.

We can carry on like this for much longer, but suffice to say the Lord is ruling Treeferns Trout Lodge; He is our CEO par excellence.

The testimonies and feedback we receive from our guests surpass our expectations by far, and we give the Lord all the credit. Most of our visitors reported having experienced the Lord’s presence in a very personal way. There is no end to the Lord’s  love and grace !  Halleluja !  May the Lord pours His Holy Spirit upon all our visitors .

“Then John testified, ‘ I saw the Holy Spirit descending like a dove from heaven and resting upon Him’ ” ( John 1 : 32 )

Nesher Privaatskool

Me.

AKADEMIE:
Akademiese uitmuntendheid – dus uitstekende standaarde.

Baie geluk Morne, well done!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hengelgroete

Hospitality

Hospitality is all about the relationship between host and guest whether he or she be family, friend or visitor. The word “hospitality” is derived from the Latin “hospes”,  and  “hospice” as we know it means home, guest house, hospital. There is no limit to hospitality, it is showing respect for one’s guests, and caring for them like family. Genuine hospitality is providing in the needs of your guests no matter what it costs, eg. washing baby’s nappies, replacing a flat tyre, jump start a stubborn engine, pulling a vehicle out of the mud, making a fire, catching a fish, gutting, and even cooking it. It also comprises service, quality, and affordability. It costs nothing to be polite and friendly, and it is the best investment one will ever make.

In the business of fly fishing and trout fishing hospitality is particularly appreciated by the fly fisher as he or she is people oriented concerned about people and their environment, the caring type.

Some countries practice a code of hospitality, just like we South Africans take pride in our south-african hospitality.

We at Treeferns Trout Lodge are not claiming that we comply in all respects, but we strongly believe in the ethics of hospitality, and we try our best to make our guests feel at home in the spirit of giving is better than  receiving.

Thanks, Morne and troops,  for your unselfish and dedicated service.

You are amazing, God !

You are amazing, God !

“Indescribable,  uncontainable, You placed the stars in the sky, and You know them by name; You are amazing, God. All-powerful; untamable; awestruck we stand as we humbly proclaim: You are amazing, God!”

What a wonderful experience!  Truly captivating  and  fulfilling with nature scenery that leaves one breathless and your soul feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

With the wonder and mystery of God’s  Creation revealing His majesty, you’ll be compelled to return for more. A great and  exciting hiking adventure and an incredible overall visit to Treeferns Trout Lodge.
