Access could not be easier :
Foremost, and in reply to a frequently asked question, yes, we are accessible to all kinds of vehicles – even buses.
The stretch of farm road is only 1 km, downhill but easy, and well attended to.

From Johannesburg the N12, and Pretoria the N4 will take you via Witbank-Middelburg to Belfast in no more than 2 hours. Two toll plazes, Diamond Hill and Middelburg, on the N4, will leave you short of R24 and R40 respectively.
From Belfast you are only 25 km away from your destination. Belfast connects you with the R540 towards Dullstroom- Lydenburg for 8-9 km to the Elandsfontein turn-off to your right. This is a provincial dirt road in a good condition in dry weather, but slippery when wet.
Also posted here, you cannot miss the Treeferns Trout Lodge sign
From this point you drive straight on through the next crossing, poorly sign posted,
into the Elandsrivierspruit dip and S-turn, to the Dullstroom- Machadodorp inter-section, also neglected. Approaching the crossing, the Treeferns Trout Lodge sign and the huge FM tower visible in clear weather, will confirm that you are on track. You will also notice a thatched structure on your left. Take care, occasionally the view is poor due to long grass.
Another 3 km will bring you to our attractive Treeferns Trout Lodge entrance on the left, a stone-built cattle-grid. Do not try to resist the temptation to stop for a couple of minutes to admire the view of the distant blue mountains beyond which Lydenburg nestles.
Don’t despair, you are almost there.
500 m further on the farm road, a sign will show you excactly where to go. Please report to Reception first to register. Again don’t miss the vista.
A short drive down-hill brings you to a boom-gate beyond which
a sign-post will direct you to Reception, where your keys will be waiting for you.
